Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Target Bucket in Impossible Cloud

2. Configure Tiering in Nutanix Prism Central

  • Access Prism Central:

    • Log in to your Nutanix Prism Central dashboard.

    • Navigate to your previously deployed Object Store.

  • Create Cloud Bucket Endpoint:

    • Navigate to Endpoints - > Cloud Bucket Endpoints.

    • Click Add Cloud Bucket Endpoint.

    • Select Other S3 Compatible under Endpoint Provider.
    • Configure Service Host according to your Impossible Cloud bucket's location.
    • Configure Impossible Cloud (target) bucket name.
    • Configure Impossible Cloud Access Key and Secret Key for Nutanix to access the Impossible Cloud bucket.

  • Locate Your Source Bucket:

    • Identify the bucket from which data will be tiered off. This bucket should be configured within Nutanix Objects.

  • Open Nutanix (source) Bucket Configuration:

    • Click on the source bucket.

    • Navigate to the Lifecycle settings.

  • Create a New Tiering Rule:

    • Click Create Rule.

    • Specify that data should be tiered to a different location (your Impossible Cloud target bucket).

    • Tick Tiering on the next screen and select the endpoint from the Cloud Bucket Endpoint drop-down.

    • Save your rule settings by clicking Done.
